Summer Greetings from Johnny Högberg

What’s happening in Flemingsberg? Launching a value proposition for Flemingsberg together with other stakeholders and starting to use a shared narrative is probably the single most important achievement for us at the foundation this spring.

But much else has happened as well.

During the past six months, we launched ATMP (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products) Flemingsberg. It serves as a platform for developing and communicating the unique opportunities Flemingsberg offers to become a hub for more and growing companies in cell and gene therapies.

In 2025, Alfa Laval will relocate 700 employees to Flemingsberg, and this spring, we at the foundation, together with Innovation Station and Alfa Laval, began testing various development ideas. We have also discussed the impact Campus Flemingsberg will have on Alfa Laval and the effects such a substantial establishment will have on Flemingsberg.

The foundation is also in a phase where we have created opportunities for partners to join. With Fabege, Hemsö, and Huge Bostäder AB as associated partners, we are both strengthening our financial base and attracting valuable expertise, enabling us to move faster towards our goals.

We continue our work with strategic partners to contribute to the development of ATMP Flemingsberg, an area where we see significant interest from companies wanting to participate. If you wish to join us on this journey, please get in touch!

Finally, I want to remind you that we at the foundation will be in Almedalen, where we are hosting a roundtable discussion with Huddinge municipality for specially invited guests. There, we will delve into Flemingsberg’s importance for southern Stockholm as a global leader in life sciences. This discussion directly follows Hemsö’s seminar on how we can become world champions in health, open to everyone. You wouldn’t want to miss it!

We are soon taking a well-deserved break to recharge for the fall. Have a wonderful summer!

In Flemingsberg, we make everything possible!

AlzeCure Pharma – a hope in the fight against Alzheimer’s

Neurological diseases and the pain area are struggling with great medical needs, including the lack of broad-spectrum drugs. Those are gaps in the market that AlzeCure Pharma wants to fill, and they are well on their way. They recently received a grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC) to finance a clinical phase 2 study of the drug candidate NeuroRestore ACD856 for Alzheimer’s disease.

Kick-off Cluster Engine Life Science Flemingsberg!

At the end of last year, the Flemingsberg Science Foundation was granted funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the project Cluster Engine Life Science Flemingsberg, which aims to strengthen the growth and establishment of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the life science sector in the Stockholm region. Recently, it was time for the official launch – and what a grand launch it was!

Flemingsberg Expands with Huge Bostäder

Imagine a home where The Royal Swedish Opera and The Royal Dramatic Theatre’s studios are in your front yard, and the Flemingsberg Forest Nature Reserve and Lake Gömmaren are in your back yard. Where Campus Flemingsberg is your neighbor to the left, and a modernized shopping center your neighbor to the right. Too good to be true? Not at all!
