Flemingsberg Science Foundation was established in 2011 to promote collaboration between academia, business and society in Flemingsberg. The foundation is backed by the following bodies:
Botkyrka municipality
Around 93,000 people live in Botkyrka – a number that is steadily increasing. If current trends continue, the municipality’s population will reach 100,000 in 2024. Some 100 different languages are spoken in the municipality and the population has a low average age. www.botkyrka.se
Huddinge municipality

Karolinska Institutet
Karolinska Institutet is one of the world’s leading medical universities. Our vision is to make decisive contributions to the betterment of human health. Our mission is to conduct research and teaching and to collaborate with the surrounding community. In Sweden, KI accounts for the single largest share of medical academic research and has the largest choice of medical training courses. Red Cross University College
The Red Cross University College was founded in 1867 by pioneering Swedish nurse Emmy Rappe, and was the first non-religious nurse training available in Sweden. Since then, we have trained and equipped nurses for a broad spectrum of roles that have contributed to the development of the nursing profession in Sweden. The College has an inclusive atmosphere where students are represented in working groups that influence the curriculum. Today, around 80 people work at the College, and we have approximately 850 students. www.rkh.se
Region Stockholm
All day, every day Region Stockholm is responsible for healthcare, public transport, and the development of Stockholm county. Region Stockholm is also tasked with contributing to the cultural life of the county. With some 45,000 employees, it is one of Sweden’s largest employers. Radiology nurses, community planners, engineers, cultural strategists and orthopaedists are just some of the hundreds of professions employed by Region Stockholm. www.sll.se
Royal Institute of Technology
Sweden’s largest engineering university. Since it was founded in 1827, KTH has become one of Europe’s leading engineering universities and an important forum for knowledge growth. As Sweden’s leading university for engineering research and training, we attract students, researchers and faculties from all over the world. www.kth.se
Södertörn University
Södertörn University is an academic institution in Stockholm that educates, researches and works for sustainable societal development. Its campus is in Flemingsberg, 19 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm Central Station. Södertörn University has 11,000 students and offers some 70 programmes and 250 courses. Teaching and research are conducted in the humanities, social sciences, engineering and science. Police training is also available, as is teacher training. Research focuses on issues related to the Baltic and Eastern Europe. www.sh.se
