Flemingsberg is growing as a hub for creativity and innovation

In Flemingsberg, breadth is our edge. It is a place of creativity, with the Opera and Dramaten soon to move in, while we continue to be at the forefront of cell and gene therapy. To convey this, we have recently launched a value proposition for Flemingsberg together with key stakeholders to identify and package the soul, heart and DNA of Flemingsberg.

– The aim is to attract more business actors, restaurants and offers that in turn can attract more people to want to study, work and live in Flemingsberg. The goal is to be one of Sweden’s most important centers for education, research and creativity by 2050, says Pernilla Boström, COO at Flemingsberg Science Foundation.

Breadth and potential for development
To anchor the work and gather joint forces to take the next step, a launch meeting was organized with important discussions on how we can create a city where knowledge and creativity meet, and where Flemingsberg continues to be a place for world-class research.

– Flemingsberg, with its breadth and development potential, has a significant role to play in making Stockholm the most attractive city in Europe. The time when Flemingsberg was a place you just passed by is long gone, it is a place for development and establishment. That’s why a joint effort to tell the story of Flemingsberg is so important, says Camilla Broo, Municipal Director of Huddinge Municipality.

This work is done together with Huddinge and Botkyrka municipalities’ business units, Fabege, Hemsö and Södertörn University, with the help of the communications agency Gullers Grupp.

What happens next?

– We are continuing to work on the value proposition and how we can meet the needs of future start-ups and what we can offer to help them grow their business here. At present, we meet once a week in our own premises, but in time we want to set up a new, physical establishment office. We also hope that more people will see the value and want to be part of Flemingsberg’s establishment office, concludes Pernilla Boström.

Limitless Potential: Winner of the Flemingsberg Science Award 2025

Young people in disadvantaged areas often face mental health challenges and a lack of support, which can lead to isolation and destructive choices. 50 years of life-changing therapies

On November 12 1975, the first allogeneic stem cell transplantation in Sweden was performed at Huddinge Hospital, here in Flemingsberg. On November 12 1975, the first allogeneic stem cell transplantation in Sweden was performed at Huddinge Hospital, here in Flemingsberg.
