The Success Formula Behind Science Park Skövde: How to Build a Game Cluster and Retain Talent

How do you create a successful game cluster, a creative innovation environment, an attractive meeting place, and retain talent? We reflect on an intensive and insightful day in Skövde, where together with Huddinge municipality business department and Fabege, we had the opportunity to explore the success formula behind Science Park Skövde.

With over 25 years of experience in driving innovation, Science Park Skövde has become a shining example of how to build a strong community and act as an enabler for 80-90 companies and 40-50 startups. Two of the key factors behind their success are their geographical proximity and close collaboration with the University of Skövde, which has fostered a fertile ground for student entrepreneurship and new ideas.

“It was a highly rewarding visit to Science Park Skövde. Future Science City, local collaborations, and not least Sweden Game Arena, gave us many valuable insights that we will take with us to our work in Flemingsberg. A big thank you to Ingi Jonasson and the team for the magnificent hospitality.” – Johnny Högberg, CEO of Flemingsberg Science Foundation.

From groundbreaking game development to innovative industrialization and sustainability, Skövde showcased its best side. We eagerly look forward to following their continued progress and are already excited about a return visit. A big thank you to Science Park Skövde for your warm hospitality, generosity, and deep engagement during our visit.
