A vibrant center for Flemingsberg

Flemingsberg is a place buzzing with knowledge, innovation, and optimism about the future. Here, residents, students, researchers, and businesses come together in a unique environment that combines world-class international research with one of the world’s leading university hospitals. But for a place to truly function, more is needed than workplaces and study environments—there must also be vibrant everyday meeting places.

For over 50 years, Huge Bostäder has been a long-term and committed player in the development of Flemingsberg. With a clear responsibility for both housing and place development, the focus has always been on creating environments where people not only work and study, but also thrive, connect, and want to stay.

A center that reflects Flemingsberg’s potential

Flemingsberg Centrum plays a key role in this context. Now, Huge Bostäder is taking the next step by giving the center a completely new design. With updated architecture, bright and refreshed premises, and space for new businesses, a center is being created that better reflects Flemingsberg’s energy and potential.

“We are investing in Flemingsberg Centrum because a vibrant and attractive center strengthens the entire area. An appealing center helps people overcome both physical and mental barriers. This is both a social sustainability effort—where our initiatives include measures to increase safety—and a business strategy, as attractive places reduce vacancy rates, support higher rents, and lead to increased property values,” says Kristina Hafström, Head of Leasing at Huge.

Special attention is being given to families with children and the quality of the visitor experience, with features such as a play corner and environments that encourage people to pause, socialize, and feel at home. The ambition is for the center to become a natural meeting point that reduces the distance between different parts of Flemingsberg—a place people want to visit, whether they live, study, or work in the area.

A holistic perspective on a vibrant center

“A vibrant center is not built through isolated efforts. It requires a holistic perspective where we understand how housing, services, workplaces, and meeting places interact. For Huge, the ability to work with multiple functions simultaneously is a key strength.”

By investing in sustainability, quality, and social value, Huge Bostäder is strengthening Flemingsberg as a whole. The new center will contribute to increased well-being, safety, and attractiveness—while also creating strong conditions for business, services, and innovation.

Looking ahead – the future of Flemingsberg

What are you most looking forward to with the new center, and how do you view the future of Flemingsberg?

“Our goal is to create a vibrant and attractive center that brings together residents, students, researchers, and visitors. We hope that the newly renovated environments and expanded offering will give visitors a completely new sense of comfort, a desire to stay longer, and to return,” Kristina concludes.
