Fabege becomes an associate partner of the Flemingsberg Science Foundation

Flemingsberg, December 19, 2023.

Flemingsberg Science Foundation announces today that Fabege is becoming an associate partner of the foundation. It marks the beginning of closer collaboration with private entities.

“We are thrilled that Fabege is becoming a partner of Flemingsberg Science! Throughout the year, we have been working on developing a partnership program that enables entry from private entities into the foundation,” says Johnny Högberg, CEO of the Flemingsberg Science Foundation.

The foundation’s strategic goals for the period 2022–2025 highlight the need to attract new partners and stakeholders to the foundation, recognizing the value of investing in both the operation and the location. The power and ability to take the next steps in developing Flemingsberg, as well as the pace at which this can be achieved, depend entirely on such developments.

“Fabege is an active participant in the development of Flemingsberg as a regional city center. It is one of Sweden’s largest development projects and a crucial part of Stockholm’s future. Flemingsberg Science serves an important role as a link between society, academia, and business. Together, we work to make Flemingsberg an attractive option for knowledge-intensive and creative industries,” says Stefan Dahlbo, CEO at Fabege.

As an associate partner, joining the foundation means aligning with its purposes. The primary focus is on the foundation’s goal for Flemingsberg to be the first choice for establishments in southern Stockholm. This expansion increases opportunities to drive projects and activities related to site development, packaging, and promoting Flemingsberg. Bringing in associate partners also means incorporating new expertise into the foundation. The foundation is now working to strengthen its ranks with more partners who recognize the value of investing in both the operation and the location of Flemingsberg.

Steps shaping innovation and growth – Natasha Bank sums up the first year of Life Science Cluster Flemingsberg

A future life science cluster isn’t built in a year – but with a solid foundation and the courage to act, important steps can be taken along the way. In February 2025, we launched Life Science Cluster Flemingsberg: a multifaceted project with powerful, interconnected ambitions – to enable Flemingsberg’s life science cluster to reach its full potential by collaboration and creating the right conditions for the establishment and growth of those who drive innovation – small and medium-sized enterprises – and, in doing so, contribute to the Stockholm region’s leading position within the sector.

Johnny Högberg Summarizes 2025 – A Year of Growth and Collaboration in Flemingsberg

We are most effective and make the greatest impact when we engage our founders and leverage their size, organizations, and influence, and we still strongly believe in this. At the same time, the fact that we have grown as an organization has also made a difference. Today, we are exactly the kind of “two-pizza team” that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos highlights as the most effective. Among other things, we are now running two cluster initiatives and creating a level of engagement, buzz, and content that is noticeable in Flemingsberg and is actually helping to change the area.
