Innovate UK x ATMP Flemingsberg: Collaborations, Inspiration, and Networking

At the beginning of the year, we had the privilege of welcoming a delegation from England, with representatives from Innovate UK and eleven ATMP (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products) companies. This marks the beginning of a significant partnership with great potential to ultimately cure diseases that were previously incurable.

ATMP Flemingsberg
It was an intense morning that began with a presentation of the new initiative ATMP Flemingsberg. Flemingsberg is more than just a location; it’s a hub where expertise, innovation, and collaboration seamlessly come together. This unique environment is characterized by its close proximity, the growing city, and of course the Karolinska ATMP center, which brings together world-leading research, the hospital and cutting-edge research facilities.

The visit from Innovate UK was very successful. We and the companies and research infrastructures within ATMP in Flemingsberg had a unique opportunity to meet companies from England and listen to interesting business ideas and discuss future collaborations. The event also shows the fantastic ecosystem in the field that exists in Flemingsberg, which our visitors also testify to! Now we from the foundation are following up with our companies how we can take this further and see how we can create a structure for long-term cooperation with Innovate UK, says Johnny Högberg CEO of Flemingsberg Science Foundation.

An Ecosystem for Innovation
Flemingsberg-based companies XNK Therapeutics and Biomedrex took the stage to share their journeys, emphasizing how the vibrant atmosphere of Flemingsberg played a crucial role in their success stories. The synergy between the hospital, academia, and research institutes at the heart of Flemingsberg creates an exceptional ecosystem for innovation.

The day also included a pitching session that provided a platform for both British and local companies to showcase their visions. This not only fostered a deeper understanding of each other’s capabilities but also paved the way for potential collaborations in the future. This exchange laid the groundwork for future partnerships, knowledge exchange, and breakthroughs in the field of advanced therapies. We look forward to taking the next step in this partnership.

HappyPaws medical journal concept wins Flemingsberg Science Award

The idea behind HappyPaws is an open platform that provides pet owners power over their pets’ medical records. It would give pet owners a better overview of their animals’ medical histories, from previous visits to the vet to the vaccination status, and allow information to be shared with other users.
