Life Science Fair Flemingsberg – Precision Health

Welcome to Life Science Fair Flemingsberg – a dynamic meeting place where leading life science companies and voices from across the ecosystem come together to showcase, connect, and inspire. Whether you want to network, explore the latest innovations, listen to inspiring talks, or join interactive sessions – this is the place to be.

Each event is designed to highlight the latest across a range of themes – from precision health to medtech, funding, and much more – with keynote speeches, workshops and exhibitions throughout the day. This time: Precision Health!

Who is it for – and why should you attend?

This day puts the spotlight on precision health, offering a comprehensive view of the field – from research and innovation to health economy, infrastructure, implementation, and emerging trends. Designed for anyone working in or interested in precision health, the day brings together leading voices across academia, industry, and the broader ecosystem to share insights, perspectives, and practical takeaways for applying knowledge and solutions in practice.

The day includes inspiring presentations, panel discussions, and exhibitions, as well as time for mingle and networking throughout the day.

Program (updated continuously, schedule coming soon):

Panel discussion – Health Economics

Precision medicine enables the delivery of the most appropriate treatment at the right time, based on individual factors such as a patient’s genetic profile, environment, and lifestyle. New advanced therapies are, in some cases, making it possible to cure conditions that were previously untreatable. However, these treatments may involve high upfront costs. Small patient populations in clinical trials, together with uncertainty around long-term effectiveness, make cost–benefit assessments more complex than for traditional pharmaceuticals. Welcome to this panel discussion exploring the health economic and broader socioeconomic considerations of implementing precision medicine.

Panelists: Peter Lindgren, Managing Director at IHE - The Swedish Institute for Health Economics, Professor of Health Economics at Karolinska InstitutetMarcelina Kadziela, Health Economist at The National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), Fredrik Andersson, Chief Economist at Lif – The Swedish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry, Anna Alaassad, Chief Strategist at TLV - The Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency.

Moderators: Andreas Namslauer, Process Manager & Filippa Kull, COO, Stockholm Science City Foundation.

PMCK – Implementing Precision Medicine in Routine Clinical Care

Andreas Hörnell, Chief of Staff, Precision Medicine Center Karolinska (PMCK)

About: Precision Medicine Center Karolinska (PMCK) is a virtual center dedicated to making precision medicine a part of everyday healthcare. Our mission is to remove barriers and facilitate drive change to bring cutting-edge technologies to every patient, leveraging the unique collaboration between Karolinska University Hospital and Karolinska Institutet.

Inhaled drug development

Ulf Wedenberg, Chief Commercial Officer, Inhalation Sciences

About: Pre-clinical studies are where the value of an asset is first established. To move the right candidate forward, researchers need reliable and predictive data that minimize clinical risk. Traditional models often fail to accurately predict human outcomes. Inhalation Sciences addresses this challenge by delivering data that better reflects how a drug will perform in humans.

ExtempoPrint - 3D-printing of compounded medicines

Christina Holmberg, Development Specialist, APL.

About: APL has introduced the ExtempoPrint concept for compounded medicines. 3D printing technology is particularly well suited for pharmacy preparations medicines, as it allows for high dosing accuracy and precision in the formulation. The technology also provides excellent opportunities for individualized dose adjustments. based on the patient's needs.

Genomic Medicine Sweden – advancing precision medicine at the national level

Richard Rosenquist Brandell, Professor and senior physician in Clinical Genetics, Karolinska Institutet/Karolinska University Hospital, director Genomic Medicine Sweden

About: This talk will outline how genomic technologies has transformed clinical diagnostics and enabled precision medicine in areas such as rare diseases, cancer, and infectious diseases. It will describe the establishment of Genomic Medicine Sweden, including its regional Genomic Medicine Centres and the National Genomics Platform that will support secure data sharing across Sweden. Finally, the lecture will highlight key milestones, lessons learned, and future priorities for ensuring sustainable and equitable access to genomics-based precision medicine in healthcare.

High multiplexing in ddPCR – closing the gap to NGS in precision medicine

Pelle Larshammar, Regional ddPCR Specialist, EMEA

About: Droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) has, over the past decade, become and established method in the clinical laboratory. Its ability to detect and quantify rare, patient specific DNA targets, such as cancer-associated mutations, has supported clinicians in selecting the right treatment for the right patient. In this seminar, we will highlight how ddPCR can also be applied in a screening-like approach, offering higher sensitivity, lower cost, and shorter time-to-result compared with NGS.

Exhibitions throughout the day from:

ThermoFisher, Nordic Biosite, CCRM Nordic, QVance, BioNordika, METTLER TOLEDO, Atlas Antibodies, ACROBiosystems & Apotek Produktion & Laboratorier (APL).

Practical details:

Lunch and refreshments are served for all registered participants.

Welcome to join us for a full day of networking, inspiration, and exploration at Life Science Fair Flemingsberg!
