Innovation hub Campus Flemingsberg takes new steps

We’ve hit the ground running for 2023. We continue to work on the strategic goal of making Flemingsberg the obvious choice for start-ups to locate in southern Stockholm with an internationally competitive innovation environment that offers testbeds for urban societal challenges.

At the beginning of February, we participated in Södertälje Science Week together with Fabege, Södertörn University and Region Stockholm. During a panel discussion at the event, we discussed how, as an innovation arena, we play a key role in efforts to strengthen collaboration for the future city.

We have challenged ourselves by carrying out a peer review of our activities together with our industry colleagues at Swedish Incubators & Science Parks (SISP). The review has provided some excellent insights into how we can work going forward.
Under the auspices of the Stockholm Life Tech project, we are working to make more research infrastructures available at Campus Flemingsberg. We have produced guides for small and medium-sized businesses that want to use these infrastructures and we are continuing to work on making more available. The project also provides a new visualisation of the life science ecosystem in Flemingsberg.

The innovation environment on campus will continue to develop in 2023. In October 2022, we opened co-working concept A Working Lab on campus, which offers flexible workplaces to companies that need access to laboratories. Work to start up a co-working and innovation hub for the creative and cultural industries will move up a gear in the spring. Through close collaboration with Södertörn University, this is being made possible at a site in the middle of the campus square.

We’re also continuing our work with our communities and the spring calendar for the Flemingsberg Business Community is all booked. We hope to offer some fascinating content for our Innovation Community, with a look into the future already planned in the spring.
I look forward to seeing you at one of these activities!
