Huge Becomes an Associated Partner of the Flemingsberg Science Foundation

Flemingsberg, June 19, 2024

The Flemingsberg Science Foundation announces today that the property company Huge is becoming an associated partner of the foundation. Through this partnership, Huge aligns with the foundation’s purposes and goals.

“It is extremely gratifying that Huge is now joining as an associated partner to the foundation. Huge, with both residential, student housing, and commercial premises in Flemingsberg, plays a very important role in an attractive Flemingsberg both today and in the future. Knowing that we can bring together Huge, Hemsö, and Fabege along with Botkyrka and Huddinge municipalities this autumn to accelerate the establishment work makes me both proud and grateful,” says Johnny Högberg, CEO of the Flemingsberg Science Foundation.

In the foundation’s strategic plan for the period 2022-2025, the importance of attracting new partners and stakeholders who share our vision and see the value in investing in both the foundation’s operations and Flemingsberg’s site development is emphasized. Partnerships like these are thus crucial for Flemingsberg’s progress and the pace of its continued development.

“Huge Bostäder owns a large property portfolio in Flemingsberg, which we are reinvesting heavily in over a ten-year period. Additionally, we are now building Studenten 1, comprising 210 rental apartments, five retail spaces, and a large preschool. For Huge, it is important to be a long-term partner in the development of Flemingsberg; we want to be involved and make a difference.” – Karin Strömberg Ekström, CEO of Huge Bostäder.

The main focus of the partnership will be in line with the foundation’s goal of making Flemingsberg the first choice for establishments in southern Stockholm. Through this partnership, we open up new opportunities to drive projects and initiatives in areas such as site development, packaging, and marketing of Flemingsberg. Additionally, the inclusion of associate partners means an increase in diversity and expertise within the foundation. We continue to actively work to strengthen our partnership with more actors who share our vision of investing in both Flemingsberg’s operations and its future development.

A national resource for tomorrow’s treatments – Karolinska ATMP Center is now inaugurated

With a clear message of hope for the future and a powerful spirit of collaboration, the Karolinska ATMP Center in Flemingsberg was inaugurated at the end of August. The center is a collaboration between Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital and will serve as a national resource for the production of advanced therapies (ATMPs), where research, clinical trials, and treatments work seamlessly together to deliver groundbreaking therapies to patients.

Meetings That Shape the Future: Flemingsberg Science at Almedalen

In June this year, the foundation took part in the annual Almedalen Week, the world’s largest democratic meeting place for everyone who wants to join the discussions on current societal issues. This year, we had a special focus on Life Science, an area and cluster that has long been a natural part of Flemingsberg, and which is now growing stronger than ever.

Meet us at NLSDays

In the south of Stockholm you’ll find Flemingsberg, home to a vibrant life science cluster that’s rapidly emerging as an attractive location for life science companies. Here, academia, business and society form a dynamic ecosystem, fueling innovation and growth. And with more companies establishing and collaborations further deepening, the opportunity to expand and invest have never been greater. This year, we are therefore participating in NLSDays in Gothenburg, where we will showcase Flemingsberg's unique strengths and invite more stakeholders to become part of our thriving life science environment.
