The Flemingsberg Science Foundation works to make Flemingsberg one of Sweden’s most important centers for education, research and creativity by 2050. Flemingsberg Science Award STARTUP open for contestants
STARTUP is a competition for startups with a clear connection to Flemingsberg, either as students, residents or otherwise active in the area. In addition to the prize money of SEK 10,000, the winner will also have a free place for three months in Flemingsbergs Sciences' innovation environment. Deadline for participation is April 5.
Campus Flemingsberg now has its own campus choir
Campus Flemingsberg now has its very own campus choir: Flemingos. During the autumn, three students at the Stockholm University College of Music Education, (SMI), led a group of around ten singers. Next semester, the choir will get back together again, when they will be joined by a chamber choir.
Bioinformatics and biostatistics support for researchers
The Center for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (CBB) provides support and knowledge on bioinformatics and biostatistics research methods. The goal is to improve opportunities for researchers at Campus Flemingsberg to use new research methods and provide training in existing methods.
HappyPaws medical journal concept wins Flemingsberg Science Award
The idea behind HappyPaws is an open platform that provides pet owners power over their pets’ medical records. It would give pet owners a better overview of their animals’ medical histories, from previous visits to the vet to the vaccination status, and allow information to be shared with other users.
AlzeCure is part of the region’s world-leading research in healthy aging
Invest Stockholm has now updated its presentation of the region's research and the companies working with neurodegenerative diseases. Here you will find, among others, AlzeCure, which is developing a painkiller based on this year's Nobel Prize in Medicine.
Biomedrex Genetics is developing antiviral drugs
“We’re developing a completely new drug to combat viral infections – an antiviral drug – using modern genetic engineering. Our methods are based on the Nobel-winning CRISPR technology that paves the way to new, targeted treatments,” says Theodor Pramer, CEO of Biomedrex Genetics.

📣24 hours before my new adventure at Stanford University begins, and this is how we wrap up before I go. 🥳With huge news from Press Start Game Tech Hub.
A total of SEK 11.5 million is now being invested in the development of Press Start GameTech Hub, an initiative created to strengthen the GameTech sector in the Stockholm region.
The project is led by Flemingsberg Science Foundation and Södertörn University, and will run from September 2026 to 2029.
I could not be prouder of how far Press Start has come in such a short time.
I was given the honor and the mission to found Press Start, and seeing it grow from an idea into one of Europe’s fastest-growing GameTech hubs has been one of the most meaningful journeys of my career.
And now, we are taking the next step.
Press Start now also has a GameTech Node in Silicon Valley, creating new opportunities to build bridges between Stockholm, Sweden, and one of the world’s most influential innovation ecosystems.
All with one clear goal:
To strengthen, support, and create real opportunities for our GameTech community in Stockholm.
What a way to close this chapter before Stanford.
